This distinctive and narrative universe emerges from observations of everyday domestic objects and moments. Familiar elements of enclosed, intimate spaces are displaced into open environments and gardens of the Colombian Andean landscape. Detached from their usual contexts, these objects and characters create a dreamlike yet mysterious atmosphere.
Each theme has two levels of perception. At first glance, the painting represents people interacting with themselves or with objects that surround them. But if we look deeper, we will find the second hidden meaning. It is like a dream: our imagination can be very strange and absurd, but exactly our experiences, desires and emotions.
I would like to highlight that the characters in these paintings are usually set in imaginary scenarios or places I have visited. Many of them specifically reference the historical and heritage monuments of the Andes mountain range.
